Like all of the 1000 Unitarian Universalists
congregations in the US, we do not have a set of religious
"truths" that you must believe. What we do have is a set of core
principles, which include:
| Tolerance of other people's beliefs. |
| Dignity for all people. |
| Growth through exposure to all the world's religious
and philosophical works. |
East Suburban UUC is part of the
Ohio-Meadville District of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).

Our Church Leaders:
| The Rev. Dr. Maurine (Renee) C. Waun, has been in
ministry in the
Pittsburgh
area since her ordination in 1981.
She has served East Suburban UU Church since 1999.
She has come to us from the mainstream church from which she
eventually took leave for reasons of conscience.
Although she is devoted to this church full time, her paid
service is one-third time. Dr. Waun officiates on the first Sunday of
every month, plus other occasional Sundays, and is available for
counsel at mwaun2003@yahoo.com
or 412-731-2834.
Dr. Waun is also available as an officiant for weddings, see this
link. Dr. Waun also has helped start a
school for AIDS orphans in Uganda. See: www.africanruralschools.org. |
| ESUUC also has the support of a Commissioned-Lay-Leader,
Nancy Fitzgerald. Our CLL leads Sunday Services and Religious
Education programs on occasion. She also is available for pastoral
care and rites of passage. |
| Church business is handled by a Board of Directors,
which consists of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary,
Program Chair, Facilities Chair, Community Enrichment Chair & Religious Education Chair. |
| Our Religious Education is coordinated through our
Directors of Religious Education. |
